Don
brings to One Brain Sports a significant range of experience in professional
sports team management and sports sponsorship sales and marketing. He takes
the lead in the sales and marketing of our sports sponsorship programs and
expo sales.
He started his career as the University of Colorado Nike Student
Representative responsible for creating innovative promotions raising the
Nike brand to a higher level of involvement in students' lives at
CU-Boulder. He joined Campus Concepts, a Baltimore-based college sports
marketing company, as a Regional Field Marketing Manager. He developed and
implemented turn-key, multi-layered campus sports marketing programs for
clients including Pepsi, Target, Kellogg's, and AMEX at colleges and
universities throughout the Western US.
He joined Groundzero Sports Marketing Group as the U.S. & Canadian Sales
Manager in 2001 responsible for sales programs in the cycling and sports
industry. He developed and managed exposition and sponsorship programs for
local and national events including The Pro Cycling Tour, The Sea Otter
Classic, the Bolder Boulder, The World Road Championships, and The Seattle
Bike Show.
In the fall of 2005, Don was hired as the Director of Operations for
the newly formed Toyota-United Pro Cycling Team. Utilizing his
extensive knowledge of event marketing and expos, Don sourced and acquired
the team marketing and event equipment, designed and developed internal
operations systems, and ran day-to-day operations of the team throughout the
inaugural 2006 season. Don traveled extensively with the team, arranging all
team travel, piloting the team bus, organizing team appearances and outings,
hiring event help, and managing all team vehicles and assets.
Back from the year with Toyota-United, Don has returned to focus on
sponsorship and licensing sales in conjunction with One Brain
Marketing.
